About
Hello, I’m Dr. Amanda Carr, a licensed psychologist. I see clients by video in California and Michigan, and I provide therapy in English.
Having lived in several states across the U.S., I’ve worked with people of many ages, backgrounds, and cultures. I work with adults and teens. I have expertise in psychological testing and court-ordered evaluations, but I’m not offering testing or court evaluations at this time.
How I work
As a psychologist, I’m here to support you in reaching your goals and living your best life, through empathetic listening, reflection, and a variety of evidence-based interventions. I’m a friendly, caring, creative, and no-nonsense kind of psychologist all at once: I’ll show compassion and use humor and creativity, and I may also challenge unhealthy thoughts or behaviors that are holding you back.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Interpersonal Psychotherapy
- Solution-Focused Therapy
“One size fits all” may work for T-shirts, but not for therapy. Each of us has different strengths, struggles, and life experiences, so I tailor every session to you. I want you to feel both supported and challenged enough to find a greater sense of purpose, experience healing, and feel empowered toward success, however you define it.
What we can work on
- Depression and anxiety
- ADHD
- Work-life balance
- School and academic difficulties
- Difficulty with motivation
- Life transitions and adjustment

If it sounds like I might be the right psychologist for you, we can start the journey toward who, and how, you want to be in life.
