ADHD assessment, for a clear answer and a way forward.
Maybe you've always lost focus, put things off or felt restless, and wondered why. Maybe a teacher has raised concerns about your child. A careful ADHD assessment can show what's really going on, and what will help.

When an ADHD assessment can help
You, a family member or a teacher may have noticed struggles at home, school or work, such as:
Easily distracted
Drifting off in class, meetings or conversations, even when it matters.
Hard to start or finish
Tasks pile up, and getting going takes far more effort than it should.
Putting things off
Leaving things until the last minute, then rushing to catch up.
Acting on impulse
Speaking or acting before thinking, and regretting it later.
A restless body
Fidgeting, getting up often, or finding it hard to sit still.
Wanting to know for sure
You've wondered for years whether it's ADHD, and you'd like a clear answer.

Something else on your mind? Our FAQ covers much more, and our care team is always happy to talk it through.
Do you assess adults as well as children?
Yes. We assess both children and adults. Many adults come to us after years of wondering whether ADHD explains their struggles, and it's never too late to find out.
Why are there different fees?
It depends on what the assessment needs to answer. An ADHD evaluation, including cognitive tests, is $4,500. If there are other questions too, such as a specific learning disorder or autism, we tailor the assessment for an overall fee of $5,500. Each fee covers testing, interpretation, the feedback session and the report. These are estimates, and we'll confirm yours after a free phone call.
How long until I get results?
Usually within about 2 weeks of your last in-person session or the completion of your questionnaires, whichever is later.
Can the assessment be done in Mandarin?
Partly. Some standardized tests must be given in English, but our Mandarin-speaking psychologists can hold the interviews in Mandarin and help facilitate testing.
Will insurance cover the assessment?
We aren't in network with insurance plans for assessments, so the fee is paid out of pocket. We can give you a superbill to ask your plan for reimbursement, and some plans require pre-authorization first. HSA and FSA cards are accepted. If you have Kaiser, you'll need an external referral from Kaiser for psychological assessment, or Kaiser won't reimburse the fee.
What happens after the assessment?
In your feedback session, we explain the results and any diagnosis, talk through where support would help, and point out your strengths. Your written report includes personalized recommendations you can share with your doctor or school. If therapy or a medication consultation could help next, our care team can connect you with a clinician here.
