About
Hi, I’m Yiming, a licensed psychotherapist. I see clients by video in New York, New Jersey, and California, and in person at our office in Manhattan.
Nancy McWilliams once wrote, “Not getting it right, making mistakes, and wishing we had the courage to do it differently is not an indication of an underlying pathology or disease. It is the human condition.” That belief sits at the heart of my work.
I see therapy as a space where every emotion, and new ways of relating to others, are allowed to unfold. It’s a place where you can begin to set down the weight of the past, loosen the grip of fixed stories and complicated feelings about the future, and move toward a more fulfilling life. As Dorothy Dinnerstein put it, “Life is given a shape that extends back into the past and forward into the future.”
