About

Hi, I’m Tianyu, and I’m glad you found your way here. I see clients by video in New York and California, and in person at our office in Manhattan.

Maybe you often feel overwhelmed by work and by the constant need to meet other people’s expectations, with little room left for your own freedom and self-love. Maybe you feel isolated and lonely, and it’s hard to feel truly connected to the people and the world around you. Or maybe you find yourself living in the past, rarely able to be present and at peace with who you are now. If you’re tired of carrying all of this alone, I hope you’ll trust me with the chance to listen and to be part of your story.

I was born and raised in China and first came to the United States to study business. Along the way I found a deep passion for psychology, and it changed the direction of my life: I chose to devote myself to helping people heal. Through my training and work in many clinical settings, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from a wide range of backgrounds, and I’m continually amazed by how resilient and adaptable the human mind can be.

How I work

As a therapist with a cross-cultural background, I bring together evidence-based approaches and wisdom drawn from ancient healing traditions.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

My clinical experience has shown me that mental wellness grows from a well-balanced life, rooted in an awareness of how body, mind, and soul can work in harmony with the laws of nature. My hope is that during and after our sessions, you’ll feel more relieved, more understood, and more encouraged to face your struggles with ease and confidence.

What we can work on

  • Stress, overwhelm, and the pressure of other people’s expectations

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Self-esteem and self-love

  • Loneliness and feeling disconnected

  • Acculturation and immigration stress

I hope you’ll come to be a beacon of light for yourself and the people you love, meeting life’s challenges with renewed strength and optimism.
